Point the Way Foundation is currently seeking players, sponsors and volunteers for the annual Diablo Charity Golf Classic! The event is set for Saturday, Oct. 29 at the Twin Oaks Golf Course in San Marcos and is bound to be one of the best events yet! The Diablo was started in 2008 by a group of friends as a way for golfers of all skill levels to play in a fun, scramble format golf tournament that took the normal rules of golf and turned them on their head. Today, the Diablo is one of the craziest, wackiest and most hilarious golf tournaments around. With traditional holes such as the longest drive and closest-to-the-pin, to Diablo Hole challenges such as teeing off on your knees and putting with a hockey stick, there is no other tournament quite like the Diablo. It is perfect for golfers and non-golfers alike, and best yet, every cent raised goes directly to Point the Way Foundation to help support our military men and women. The Players Here’s the thing about playing in the Diablo – you do not have to be a golfer. We repeat, you do not have to be a golfer. The tournament is set up so that everyone, whether they golf or not, will have a good time and have a chance at making a big play on one of the holes. While there are plenty of holes to play as a serious golfer, and of course prizes for whichever team scores the lowest, with our many Diablo challenges, players should never expect a hole to go as planned. Players in the Diablo Golf Classic tend to be remarkable people that like to let loose and have a little fun on the course, and raise money for charity in the process. The Volunteers Volunteers at the Diablo have just as much fun as the players, if not more! We are currently seeking volunteer groups and individuals to make this year’s Diablo go off without a hinge. Without our amazing volunteers, this event simply would not be possible. Join us this year! All volunteers receive a t-shirt, snacks, drinks, dinner, good karma and lots of laughs for their time! The Charity All proceeds from the Diablo Golf Classic are donated to Point the Way Foundation , which is a 501(c)3 that supports non-profit Military, Children and Community organizations in need of assistance. Point the Way has contributed to military programs such as STEPS, The Wingmen Foundation, We Heart Vets, and many others! To date, the Diablo Golf Classic has helped raise thousands of dollars in donations. This year’s goal is to raise $50,000 for Point the Way.
